January 22-24 will be sot of a home coming weekend for all the Just Friends Bands. Its sure to be an action packed weekend with 10 bands from our little label that could all coming together to show Halifax a good time. The Stance will also be delivering their long awaited full length “I Left Love Behind a Long Time ago”. This album will be available on vinyl and cd. And not to be outdone, The Pinecones will deliver their first collaborative effort, a full length record simple called “SAGE”. We are very excited about both of these great albums so be sure to get your hands on them. The Friday & Saturday shows will take place at our favorite watering hole Gus’ Pub and the Sunday show will be at the Company House. Hope to see you there.

Just Friends Welcomes The Propector’s Union

That’s right we are very excited to have the honour to release The Prospector’s Union’s debut EP “Syracuse”. The album was produced by the oh so talented Jason MacIsaac and will make a great fit with the rest of the Just Friends Catalogue. Stay tuned for more details on this release in the near future.

Help Brent Randall & His Pinecones open for Paul!

Brent Randall & His Pinecones have launched a campaign in an effort to open for their hero Paul McCartney in their hometown Halifax, NS. Paul McCartney has been a huge influence on Brent and his Pinecones’ music and aesthetic. The Pinecones often pay tribute to Sir Paul in their live show with covers of “Let Me Roll It” and “Monkberry Moon Delight.” Brent grew up listening to the Beatles, and later Wings and solo McCartney records. It was Paul’s music that made him want to start writing and performing, and still inspires him today. Help them out by joining the facebook group and telling everyone you know to do so as well.

Also If you’re in Halifax Be sure to Check out Brent Randall & His Pinecones live at the beautiful St. Matthew’s Church on Barrington st. on Saturday May 30th at 7:30pm. Brent will be joined by Just Friends, up and Comer Hymm, as well as good friends The Superfantastics and Ruth Minnikin. Sure to Be a hoot.

Also be sure to catch The Incredible Mike Evin at his Halifax CD release show on Wednesday May 27th at The Company House. He will be joined by the Heavy Blinkers ensemble, which is sure to be amazing.

Just Friends is happy to be releasing the mouth wateringly delicious pop album “Good Watermelon” by Mike Evin. This is Mike’s fourth album (First on Just Friends) and it was recorded in Montreal with a slew of amazing musicians live to 2 track tape. The album captures the infectious energy of Mike’s live show very well. This is sure to be a summer time hit. Check him out if you haven’t already had the pleasure.
